Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza visited President Asif Ali Zardari and briefed him on the security situation in the country as well as the operational readiness of the armed forces.

During the meeting, the CJCSC also emphasized that the country's armed forces have the ability to effectively solve problems of internal and external security.

President Zardari praised the role of the Pakistani armed forces in protecting the national borders as well as their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.

He said he has full confidence that the country's security forces will be able to successfully overcome internal and external security challenges.

ZAOK congratulated President Zardari on his assumption of office as President of Pakistan.

The meeting expressed resolve to eradicate the scourge of terrorism with the support of the nation.
